Why Entrust America collects members/customers non-public personal information.

Entrust America, Inc. welcomes you as a member or a visitor to our web site. Keeping your non-public personal information secure and confidential is our main priority. As a member/customer of Entrust America or as a user of our web site, we want you to know that we will only collect your non-public personal information for the following reasons:

  • To enroll you as a member/customer;
  • To recover your case of identity theft;
  • Give you, a member/customer of Entrust America or as a user of our web site, clear notice when we are requesting information from you, the types of information we request from you, the general purposes for which that information will be used or disclosed, the agencies to whom we provide the information;
  • Offer you the ability to opt out of such uses;
  • Maintain accurate records and provide you access to your personally identifiable information;
  • Use safe and secure systems, physical and electronic, to safeguard your non-public personal information.
  • Provide ongoing identity monitoring for a Covered Member in the form of
    Pre-Victim National Database Screening
    • Provide for voluntary enrollment in Entrust America’s NIDR IDAlert.
    • Provides monthly National Database screening for the enrolled member.
    • Requires Full Name and Social Security Number of the enrolled member.
      • Checks National Databases for potential fraudulent use of the enrolled member’s name and/or Social Security Number.
      • Identifies name and address variations utilized in possible Identity Theft/Fraud
    • Affordable proactive detection of Identity Theft.
    • Helps identity “True Name” Identity Theft/Identity Fraud.
      • The most serious type of financial identity fraud is True Name Identity Fraud where the criminal assumes or co-opts your personal details and masquerades as you.
      • True Name Identity Fraud is where the criminal assumes or co-opts your credit identity to open or close accounts, obtain loans, write checks, buy autos, enter leases, etc. By using your social security number and having other personal details, the criminal becomes a true imposter and can proceed to run away with your credit worthiness.
      • True Name Identity Fraud requires immediate and diligent efforts in gaining back your identity for your entire financial position is placed in jeopardy and the longer the fraud occurs the more difficult it becomes to unwind.
    • Should the IDAlert identify possible Identity Theft or Fraud, we will notify the victim and begin Identity Theft Resolution immediately.
    • The screened member will receive an updated monthly IDAlert Score which will aid them in understanding how likely they are to become a victim of Identity Fraud or Identity Theft.
    Post-Victim National Database Screening
    • Provide an ID Alert screening for all covered members who are victims of Identity Theft, paid for by Entrust America
    • Assists in identifying “True Name” Identity Theft and allows us to identify additional identity theft damage and perform a thorough Identity Theft Resolution.

In each of these circumstances, we will only collect and use the minimum information needed to accomplish the stated purpose, and only with your full knowledge and consent. In many of these circumstances, our principal role is actually to facilitate a relationship in which you provide your information directly to a third party - for instance, to place a fraud alert with a credit reporting agency or to file a police report. In such cases, Entrust America and its partner NIDR may not need to collect your information at all.

How we collect non-public personal information
When you visit the Entrust America, Inc. website, you are able to do so anonymously. We don't collect non-public personal information when you browse - not even your email address. Entrust America does collect general Internet data, such as how often our web page was visited. This information does not identify you personally. We use it only to analyze traffic patterns on our web site in order to make our site more useful to our visitors.

It is not the process of Entrust America, parent company or its partners to sell or trade non-public personal information to direct marketers.
  • As mentioned above, there are circumstances in which with your express permission we may provide non-public personal information to third parties involved in the resolution process of recovering your identity theft. Such information will be provided directly by us on your behalf to the parties in question. Such third parties might include:
  • a credit reporting agency representative, in the course of placing a fraud alert;
  • a police officer, in the course of filing a police report; or
  • a representative of a financial institution or credit card company.
  • At times we may be required by law or legal process to disclose your personal information. We will comply with any such law or legal process.

How we protect your non-public personal information

  • Entrust America, Inc. and its partners uses highly secure physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the confidentiality and security of the data you provide to us.
